Master of Social Work
Greetings Prospective Master of Social Work Student:
Thank you for your interest in our Master of Social Work (MSW) program at Florida Atlantic University. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, Social Work is one of the fastest growing careers in the U.S. Since its inception in 2000, our MSW program has continued to grow. Our School is ranked #2 of top MSW Social Work Schools for 2017 according to student reviews from GraduatePrograms.com.
Our MSW offerings include a two year full-time and four year part-time program for students whose bachelor’s degree is in a discipline other than social work. We also offer a full-time one year and a part-time two year Advanced Standing program for students who have achieved a solid foundation in social work from an accredited Bachelor of Social Work program within the last five years.
Our MSW courses are offered on the Boca Raton campus. Students come from a broad range of backgrounds, representing a variety of undergraduate majors and universities. The student body possesses a wealth of life experiences, an appreciation of diversity, and commitment to social and economic justice. We are truly inspired by the enthusiasm, skills, and knowledge of our students, as well as the many sacrifices they make to pursue their dream of obtaining an MSW degree.
Our graduates are eligible to apply for licensure as clinical social workers in Florida and elsewhere. They go into a variety of fields including family services, child welfare, gerontology, public policy, domestic violence, mental health, research and evaluation, addictions, and criminal justice.
Our MSW program begins in August of each year. The application deadline is May 1. Admission to the MSW program is on a rolling basis. The Admission Committee meets monthly beginning in October. You are encouraged to submit your application as soon as possible.
If you should have questions about our MSW program, please feel free to contact myself at email@example.com. We look forward to receiving your application and wish you all the best in your future social work career.
