Master of Public Administration – How to Apply

Graduates Spring 2016

If you are considering applying to FAU, we recommend reading through each of the steps, and the detailed explanation of each step before starting with the application process.

Applying for the Master of Public Administration degree consists of these steps:

  1. Carefully read the admission requirements. Do not apply if you have not successfully completed (C or better) an undergraduate statistics course (equivalent to FAU STA 2023).

  2. Take the GRE if your GPA (of the last 60 hours of undergraduate study) is less than 3.5 on a 4.0 scale.

  3. Prepare the documents (resume, essay) and ensure you can get 3 letters of recommendation.

  4. Complete the Application

You can submit your application online.  Note: All materials in the next few steps must be submitted together with your application.

  5. Send Your Transcripts

Request that two official transcripts from the Registrar of each college or university you have attended (except FAU) be sent directly to you. These transcripts must show the undergraduate statistics course. When you receive the transcripts, do not open the envelopes, but include them unopened in your materials packet. If FAU was your last school attended and you were a degree-seeking student, it is likely that your transcripts are on record. You will be notified if they are not. Mail the official transcripts to

  7. Enclose Application Fee

The application fee of $30 must be in U.S. currency. Fee can be paid by credit card, check, or money order.
